Terms of service

Effective 1 October 2026.

These terms are an agreement between you, or the org you represent (“Customer”, “you”), and Altix Code Ltd, a company incorporated in and governed by the law of the Republic of Cyprus (“Altix”, “we”), governing your use of Datevbridge(the “Service”). By creating an account, you accept these terms. If you are creating an account on behalf of an org, you confirm you have authority to bind it, and “you” in these terms means that org.

1. The Service

Datevbridge imports Stripe balance transactions from an account you connect with a restricted, read-only key, and compiles them into a DATEV EXTF Buchungsstapel that you or your Steuerberater import into DATEV software, outside this Service. We have no integration with, and no data-sharing relationship with, DATEV GmbH — DATEV is simply the file format the export targets. Plans, limits and pricing are described at Datevbridge/pricing and may change on reasonable notice as described in section 6.

2. Accounts, orgs and team members

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • One person (`User`) may belong to more than one org, each as a separate `Membership` with its own role (Owner, Admin, or Member) and its own permissions.
  • The Customer org is responsible for the conduct of every team member it adds, for ensuring it has the right to add them, and for removing access promptly when it is no longer appropriate.
  • At least one Owner must exist on every org at all times; the Service will not let the last Owner be demoted or removed. Only an Owner may manage billing or delete the org.
  • We log security-relevant org actions — invitations, role changes, removals, and deletion — in an audit trail visible to Owners and Admins.

3. Your Stripe key and the DATEV export

  • You must connect a restricted key with read access to Balance transactions only. A full secret key is rejected; pasting one anyway, if you circumvent that check, remains your responsibility.
  • You must have the right to access the Stripe account and the transactions you import.
  • The default account mapping, VAT treatment, and every generated export are a starting point, not tax or accounting advice. You are responsible for confirming the mapping and the resulting export with your own Steuerberater before relying on it.
  • Re-running a sync for an overlapping period is safe and will not double-book — this is enforced by a database constraint, not merely a convention — but you remain responsible for reviewing an export’s clearing balance before importing it into DATEV.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Import or process Stripe data you are not authorised to access.
  • Probe, scan, or attempt to bypass the security of the Service, including the restricted-key check in section 3.
  • Resell or sublicense access to the Service without our written permission.
  • Violate any applicable law in your use of the Service.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches this section, with notice where practicable.

5. Subscriptions, billing and taxes

  • Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis through Stripe, and renew automatically until cancelled.
  • You can cancel at any time from Billing; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then. Deleting your org (section 8) cancels immediately instead, as part of deletion.
  • Fees are exclusive of taxes unless stated otherwise; you are responsible for any VAT or other tax applicable to your use of the Service.
  • If a payment fails and is not resolved, we may suspend access to paid features or downgrade the org to the free tier.

6. Changes to the Service and these terms

We may update these terms or the Service from time to time. For a material change, we will notify org Owners by email at least 14 days before it takes effect, except where a change is required sooner for legal or security reasons. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect is acceptance of it; if you do not agree, you may cancel and delete your org before it takes effect.

7. Data processing terms

Where the Service processes personal data contained in your Stripe balance transactions, you are the data controller and Altix is the data processor, acting only on your documented instructions (to import the transactions you request and compile the export you configure). This section, together with our Privacy Policy, forms our data processing terms:

  • We process that data only to produce your DATEV export, and for no other purpose.
  • We implement the technical measures described in our Privacy Policy (encryption of your Stripe key at rest, restricted-key-only access) and will notify you without undue delay of any breach affecting it.
  • Our subprocessors for this data are limited to our infrastructure host (Hetzner) and Stripe itself (as the API we read from using your key); we do not share your Stripe transaction data with DATEV or any other third party.
  • On deletion of your org, this data is deleted as described in our Privacy Policy and section 8 below.

8. Termination and deletion

  • An Owner may delete the org at any time from Settings. This immediately cancels any subscription, permanently deletes synced transactions, bookings, exports, API keys and the stored Stripe key, and removes every team member’s access. It cannot be undone.
  • We may suspend or terminate an org for breach of section 4, for non-payment that remains unresolved after reasonable notice, or if required to do so by law.
  • Sections that by their nature should survive termination do — including sections 7 (to the extent data still exists), 9, 10, 11, and 13.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Nothing in the Service, including the default chart-of-accounts mapping and any generated export, is tax or accounting advice. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that a given account mapping is correct for your business without your own Steuerberater’s confirmation.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Altix’s total liability arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, and Altix will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill — including any loss arising from an incorrect account mapping or VAT treatment you did not confirm with your own Steuerberater. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Altix harmless from any claim arising from your breach of section 4 (acceptable use) or from your use of the Service to import Stripe data you did not have the right to access.

12. Intellectual property

Altix owns all rights in the Service, excluding your own data. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service during your subscription, for your own internal business purposes.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of Cyprus have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these terms or the Service, except where mandatory consumer protection law gives you the right to bring a claim in your own country of residence.

14. General

  • If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
  • These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Altix regarding the Service.
  • You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • A failure to enforce any right under these terms is not a waiver of it.
